Okay so here’s the deal. I got lazy again and used WordPress because “professional” websites cost like a million dollars and I don’t have that kind of cash just laying around.
You can win TF2 buds by entering raffles on this crappy website, some are free and some are pay-to-enter. Make no mistake. I’m not some rich dude giving stuff away.
In a sense, you’re really “earning” your entries. Each time you request a webpage, I get charged hosting fees so I sell advertising to pay those bills. Each time an advertisement is displayed or clicked, Google charges the advertiser a fee and Google shares a portion of that fee with me for helping them make that money. I pass whatever is left to you, except instead of paying cash, I buy a pair of TF2 buds and award it to the winner of a raffle.
Raffles are started before I buy earbuds. When you enter the raffle, the site revenue grows. Once these revenues cover the hosting fees as well as the cost of buying TF2 Buds, the raffle will end and a winner will be chosen. At that point, I will buy the buds with my own money and use the advertising revenue for reimbursement, since it takes Google a little while to send the checks.
I don’t want you to spam your F5 key and think you’re helping. Sure you could sit at your computer and hit the refresh button a thousand times, but that wouldn’t do any good for anyone.
What you can do is use the website often. Many enter a raffle once and call it quits. When the time comes around to select a winner, they’re surprised that they didn’t win. Well, duh. If you enter one time and everyone else enters 15 times each, you’re not the favorite.
Besides, it costs you nothing but 20 seconds to enter… if you’re on dial up. Over a month, assuming you entered daily, that’s only 10 minutes of your time for a chance to win buds.
Every time that you enter, your odds of winning increase. Please do not try to compare the odds of winning buds to the odds of getting a hat from the item drop system. The odds of a hat drop in TF2 are rather slim and most of the good ones are not worth your time. Ear buds don’t drop.
For the best chances of winning the raffle, you should enter daily. Yes, that’s right. I’m letting you enter each day for an additional entry. If you don’t follow the directions, though, that entry won’t count and you lose your chance to gain an advantage that day.
This is “how to enter.”
This is not completely automated. I personally moderate the entries to keep the raffles as fair as possible to those who actually follow the directions.
You need a valid email address or Facebook account. I don’t care which you use, as long as you can access it without fail. You cannot use multiple emails or multiple Facebook accounts. Pick one and stick with it. This is how I will contact the winner and it’s also how the winner will confirm his/her identity, before trading the buds over.
Winners will be announced from within the steam group and on this website. The only thing you need to do to claim prizes is reply to the notification email with the designated information. Details are in that email. The prize will be held for a full 2 weeks before it’s no longer eligible to claim. If you want it, it won’t take that long to get it.
I will only use this account (http://www.steamcommunity.com/id/tf2buds) to trade prizes or accept entries for paid raffles.
Please do not add me unless you’re entering paid raffles. All questions should be directed to info@tf2buds.com
I’m looking for a web developer that can integrate the steam API into the site so that users can log in through steam. If you have what it takes, click here to email me.
